Yalow’s 4-week Summer Academy operates from July 6 to July 28, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., when parents should pick up their children. The purpose of the program is to build skills in reading and math to meet grade-level requirements.
60 students (kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders) are enrolled in the Summer Academy. They will receive 3 hours of instruction in reading, divided into small groups of 15 students with one teacher per group. Parents should make sure students have had a healthy breakfast before school.
